THE ARTIST. Anita Rée (1885–1933) was a German painter, whose works reflect the changes in society during the early twentieth century. She painted portraits, nudes, landscapes, and murals. Unfortunately, her work was denounced by the Nazis and removed from museums. However, much of it remains to be enjoyed today.
